Home Office Makeover: A Usable Workspace

It has been oh-so long since I first posted about my home office makeover.Β  And while it’s still not complete I wanted to post some progress photos because I think they’re worth posting.

I started with a very disorganized & uninspiring workspace.

Old Workspace

See very blah and stuff everywhere: kids toys, craft bins, weights…you name it, it was probably there somewhere. And yes I’m a Kristen Stewart fangirl…don’t judge!

After realizing I didn’t want to spend money on a new desk (yet) I decided painting the top would be the best option. From there I picked out the necessary accessories such as a small Parsons desk, lighting & curtains; which I actually ditched for something much nicer.Β  I even created a wannabe of Ikea’s Fintorp Rail, which was my 1st hack of sorts. And it only cost me $3!

Now before showing you the new progress photos let’s take another peak at the before:

And the now:

Much brighter and oh so clean!

I’m still tagging this as ‘in progress’ because I want…no NEED new seating, I’m tired of the generic looking black office chair. And if you noticed I only posted pics of 1/2 of the room. My hubby owns the other side and it is ridiculously messy.

He calls his space organized chaos. He’s got the chaos part right.
